Unstoppable Girl....BJJ White Belt and Chemistry Teacher Marina Mavrou

Meet female BJJ athlete, white belt, chemistry teacher and Unstoppable Girl, Marina Mavrou.

"I'm 23 years old and I teach chemistry in a secondary school in London. I am have been training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu every day for one year. It keeps me active and fit. It requires both mental and physical determination and this is what I absolutely love about it. It's a mind game as well as an endurance test. Every single woman on earth regardless of their age, height, weight, body type can train BJJ and succeed. All it needs is will!"

The UKBJJA is launching a major campaign called “Unstoppable Girl” to get more women involved in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The launch coincides with the release of UKBJJA short film Jiu Jitsu Woman -

“Unstoppable Girl” involves national women only training events, social media, an education and fundraising campaign to get girls and women involved in the sport. A number of “Unstoppable Girl” Ambassadors; based throughout the UK. Each event will offer the opportunity for individuals to talk to existing practitioners about the benefits of BJJ, how it has helped them, and what it’s like to train and be part of the BJJ family.
