The UKBJJA's Women's Development Commission tonight released a film entitled 'Jiu Jitsu Woman' designed to promote female involvement and participation in the sport, and encourage more women to take up a martial art which has had such a positive effect on those involved in making the film
Today, to celebrate International Women’s Day (Tuesday 8th March) the UKBJJA (UK Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Association), is launching a major campaign called “Unstoppable Girl” to get more women involved in the martial art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The launch coincides with the release of a short film Jiu Jitsu Woman. The event takes place at Carlson Gracie London, 89 Richford Street, London, W6.
At a gym in Bristol a group of grapplers spent 24 hours of their Easter weekend on the mats doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in the name of charity. Artemis BJJ, a member club of the UKBJJA, hosted a GrappleThon and raised £3000 for local charity One25, which supports vulnerable women, helping them to break free and build new lives away from violence, poverty and addiction.
One of the UKBJJA's member clubs, Bristol-based Artemis BJJ, will be hosting a great event on March 26 and March 27 to support charity, using BJJ to help the community. Artemis are holding a 24 hour GrappleThon to raise funds for a great organisation, One25, who support vulnerable women. Individuals will be coming from around the country to take part in this project and grapple the night away.
