10 year old Lois Marsh of Colchester has been sent a letter of achievement by her MP for her performance as a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) athlete. Colchester MP Will Quince wrote to the youngster after reading about her success at the BJJ Junior European Championship, in which Lois won a gold and a silver medal.

On 4 December, 2016 Graham Day (44) from Southampton was awarded his black belt in the art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), despite a debilitating degenerative spinal condition that could have left him in a wheelchair.

On 30 November, members of the British Army Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team sparred for 1000 rounds in 24 hours to raise money for PTSD The British Army BJJ team started their marathon effort in Farnborough, Colchester and Catterick. On November 1st, Pedro Besa BJJ Rhondda hosted a very special visitor for a seminar in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Fernando Augusto “Tererê” is a 7 time world champion in the sport and a legend in his home country of Brazil. He was in Wales to deliver a seminar and raise money for the Tererê Kids’ Project – a charity set up to help poor kids in the Favelas of Rio de Janeiro via the sport of BJJ.
