On Saturday 6 July 2019, the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff played host to the second UKBJJA Junior Development Day. This free event brought nearly 100 young athletes from across the UK together to train and learn from black belt coaches, including Wales’s first female world champion, Ffion Davies.

On March 16, close to 100 junior athletes from across the country gathered at the Sport Wales National Centre in Cardiff for the first UKBJJA Junior Development Day. The event was free to UKBJJA members and was designed to give kids from different teams, backgrounds and regions chance to develop their Jiu Jitsu in a friendly and co-operative environment.

British women athletes have brought home a stunning haul of six medals, including three golds from the World IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Championship. The World IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Championship is the largest and most prestigious Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) competition in the world, attracting nearly 4,000 competitors from around the globe. It was held in Long Beach, California from 31 May to 3 June, 2018.

An athlete from Swansea has become the first ever Welsh competitor to win a world championship in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). Ffion Eira Davies, who trains at CF24 Jiu Jitsu in Cardiff, flew out to Long Beach, California last weekend to compete in the World IBJJF Jiu Jitsu Championship, the largest and most prestigious BJJ competition in the world. 1000 rounds of sparring for PTSD Charity

On 30 November, members of the British Army Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team sparred for 1000 rounds in 24 hours to raise money for PTSD The British Army BJJ team started their marathon effort in Farnborough, Colchester and Catterick. The event was to raise money for Combat Stress – a military charity that supports service personnel and their families.
