On 30 November, members of the British Army Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Team sparred for 1000 rounds in 24 hours to raise money for PTSD The British Army BJJ team started their marathon effort in Farnborough, Colchester and Catterick. The event was to raise money for Combat Stress – a military charity that supports service personnel and their families.

On Saturday 12 March men and women from the British armed forces will be competing at the Army Martial Arts BJJ Championships in Aldershot. BJJ is the newest official addition to the roster of martial arts in the British military. But the display of BJJ at the weekend continues a century-old tradition of Jiu Jitsu in the armed forces dating back to an officer and showman Captain Leopold McLaglen.
